Ritual Chocolate Truffles
Our recent visit to the new Ritual Chocolate cafe at Whole Foods in Park City, Utah allowed us the opportunity to sample many of its treats, and we left with a box of the new truffles to taste and photograph back at the studio.
Chocolatier Marcie Blackburn uses the different Ritual chocolate bar origins to create both molded and rolled truffles.
The truffle offerings are as follows:
Campfire Maple - High West Campfire bourbon with maple
London Fog - Earl Grey tea with vanilla syrup
Salted Raspberry Pistachio - Raspberry preserve ganache rolled in pistachio
Mexican Hot Chocolate - A spicy blend of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cayenne
Madagascar 75% with cream
Vegan Peru 75% with coconut cream
Ecuador 75% with cream
Vanilla 70% with cream
While they are stunning to look at, the flavor is what we are after. The molded truffles are really good, especially the extravagant ones, but the rolled truffles absolutely took the show.
The bite through the thin shell and into the smooth and creamy ganache center is to die for. After tasting each one carefully, the Salted Raspberry Pistachio using Ritual Chocolate's Fleur de Sel 70% was by far the best.
Hopefully, Ritual will get these up on its website soon for all the chocolate nerds outside of Utah!
