Utah Chocolate Society recently gathered at The Chocolate Conspiracy with Eric from Durci Chocolate for some tasty treats and a fun surprise. The surprise? Eric brought us some fresh Cacao Pods from Nicaragua!

My dream came true when I got to see into a cacao pod and taste the pulp for the first time, a delicious mango/lemon flavor.

Eric taught us more about the different varieties and genetics of cocoa beans. We cut into a few to see them up close and compare.

Then Steve from The Chocolate Conspiracy was our gracious host and he gave us many delicious raw chocolate treats to try.

We highly recommend visiting The Chocolate Conspiracy storefront and trying their truffles, peanut butter cups, drinking chocolate, and reading a book in their chill area.
